Standing with pride in the historic village of Robertsbridge, this former 18th century Coaching Inn is the perfect place to watch village life go by and enjoy a short break surrounded by beautiful 1066 countryside.
Named after special characters linked with The George, four boutique bed and breakfast rooms complement their award winning restaurant perfectly, and provide the a haven from the bustle of life. All of the rooms feature sumptuous fabrics, deluxe pocket sprung beds, and antique furniture, as well original Georgian windows that overlook the picturesque village High Street or pretty Courtyard.
Accommodation prices range from 75-95 for single occupancy (not available at weekends) and 95 - 110 for double occupancy.
Local produce leads the way in the restaurant, with all of their suppliers being based within a 30 mile radius, so delicious dishes such as herb crusted rack of Hawkhurst Lamb, pan fried Rye Bay Scallops or Chargrilled free range local Rib Eye steak with chilli or herb butter regularly feature on their ever changing menus. Not forgetting the pudding lover, The George also makes all of their own puddings, which are headlined by the very popular Chocolate Loveliness, which is a chocoholics dream!
With locally grown and pressed juices, award winning wines from nearby vineyards, and distinctive ales from regional brewers, also being featured, not forgetting homemade cakes, fresh coffee and chestnut coloured leather armchairs in which to relax, The George is also the perfect place to catch up with friends, or unwind on a gastronomic short break.
